Maine Coon cats are the largest breed of pedigree cat in the UK, and are nicknamed the Gentle Giant. They are very sociable, extremely friendly, and love receiving attention from humans. This affectionate nature means they are a perfect choice for most households, but it helps if you have plenty of space as they are bigger than other breeds, enjoy playing and running around, and are not really suited to a small environment. They will happily co-exist with children and other pets including dogs
A Maine Coon will typically take 4 years to reach it’s maximum size and they do eat a lot, so please take this into account if you are thinking of going down the route of becoming a Maine Coon owner (well, actually, they own you!!)
